TLDR : Answer Summary
The question concerns the retirement visa, specifically if the 800,000 baht requirement must remain untouched when re-applying, or if funds can be withdrawn. Additionally, the asker is inquiring whether it is better to apply from Thailand or the UK. One commenter notes the need for clarification as there are multiple types of retirement visas and the specific type affects the answer.

What do you mean with "retirement visa", there are 3 different kinds of visa and an Extension of Stay all named "retirement visa"? We have to know which one you like to choose to give correct information.

This visa is valid for 1 year and on every entry you get 1 year of stay. If you leave just before the valid until / enter before date on the visa you can get almost 2 years of stay out of this visa. But YES every time you apply for a visa or Extension of Stay you need to meet the requirements.
