I am German, planning to apply from Indonesia.

When asked for HOME ADDRESS I believe I should provide my address in Germany, correct?

It then asks "Is your permanent address same as your current address?", which it is not, so I believe I should be providing my German permanent address as well as the current address (in Indonesia?)

But in both cases it says HOME ADDRESS. So I am confused what to enter where.

Could someone help me out, pls?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A German citizen applying for a visa from Indonesia should enter their current address in Indonesia as the first home address. The second home address should be the permanent address in Germany. Several commenters confirmed this approach, clarifying any confusion regarding the definition of 'home address' in the application.

Die erste Adresse ist wo du dich gerade befindest. Indonesien wurde ja schon als Land vorgegeben, weil du dich in Indonesien bewirbst. Das 2. ist deine deutsche Adresse.

Hat mich auch verwirrt. 😁

The first address defaults to the country that you are applying from so you should put your accommodation in Indonesia first and then your permanent address (2nd one) as Germany
