Hi all! I've got my tourist visa extension with the Embassy's letter in September. Must be automatically extended by October 31 untill November 30. Is it an issue, if I'll come to Immigration on 4-th of November? Will they charge me an overstay fine? Can't ask IMM directly, cuz traveling at the moment. Via phone they assured me, that it's ok...๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™‚๏ธ

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about visiting Immigration after their tourist visa extension expires on October 31. They wonder whether they'll incur an overstay fine if they go on November 4, despite being told it might be acceptable by phone.

I'm not under amnesty until October 31. I've got an extension with the Embassy's letter, which supposed free extension until November 30. So, if my further extension is certain already, does it make sense to hurry by October 31. Isn't it formal?

The real question IS

looking at the stamp in your passport now, does it say "extension of stay permitted until" OR does it say "application for extension under consideration" ?

application for extension under consideration

as TOD explained.... Totally perfect.... Your under consideration stamp tell you when you have to be back.. Some offices offer a online checking system with the No on the stamp on top filled in you can see if its already worked out.... May be try this... But I would not get into an overstay situation... Or just go today and ask your local immigration officers.... As they all just published.... Not ti stay over....

thanks, you're the only one, give me a reasonable reply, matching with my case. I called to IMM today and they assured me, that if I'll come in November, they will not consider it as overstay. Moreover, my case is not approved yet.

you don't have any "FREE extension" until the 30th of Nov. Right now you can stay IN thailand as long as the stamp in your passport is valid for. AND if you're wanting to get that "free time" they were stamping people for you have to show up at the immigration office that you applied for the extension from.
