I need to pay taxes on my bike for another year. Can I just show up with my Green Book and pay or do I have to bring other documents with me. Like copies of Passport and Visa etc.

TLDR : Answer Summary
To pay taxes on your motorcycle in Thailand, you primarily need your Green Book. If your bike is over 5 years old, you must first have it inspected at a designated shop. Additionally, obtaining mandatory government insurance is required, and you should bring the insurance documents when paying the taxes at the DMV. Some users reported that it was a straightforward process, taking around 20-30 minutes and costing approximately 400 to 700 THB depending on the motorcycle size.

If you are in Bangkok just take the bike and your green book to the smog inspection station at the back of the land transport department. Then inside with the certificate they give you. Buy the mandatory insurance, then go to the official, and you are done.

yes, much quicker & cheaper than using a bike shop/agent. You get both insurance/tax In under 20 mins & costs just 400 baht for under 150.

You need to have the mandatory PoRoBo insurance. One of the documents of that insurance is meant to be handed over to the civil servant handling your tax payment.

Just bring your green book to any motorcycle sales shop . You just need this book and money. It takes 2 to 3 weeks and they will call you when it is done. You also can and should renew insurance at the same time. Total price for small motorcycle is just under 700 BHT

Should be just the book and the bike. Additional docs are required when you change the owner.

Hi Sid! You need to stop by and get the bike inspected( if over 5 yrs old) at any of the hundreds of shops w a blue and yellow sign that looks like a sprocket. Take your green book. Stop across the street from the dmv and get your govt insurance. Take all that and the book into the dmv.

Just green book for me last time plus fill out the form they give you.
