Researching longer term stays in Thailand, other than the 2+1 tourist visas we normally come on. Non immigrant o-x looks great BUT im 43 yrs, my understanding is I would need to be over 50?

Alternatively, I found the Elite scheme which is interesting, if slightly more pricey.

ED Visa might be interesting as I'd be keen to learn Thai in more depth than conversational. However, the UK criminal record check would need a trip back which might be self defeating in terms of costs AND the additional money to leave to collect the visa and the fees might dictate the Elite to be a more sensible option.

Can you guys think of any other visas which might be interesting? Thanks, helpful.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual is exploring longer-term visa options for staying in Thailand beyond the typical 2+1 tourist visas. They mention the Non-Immigrant O-X visa, which requires applicants to be over 50, and express interest in the Elite visa program, albeit noting its higher cost. They also consider the ED visa for deeper Thai language studies, although the need for a UK criminal record check poses logistical challenges. They seek further suggestions for potential visas suitable for someone under 50.
