Do I need to fill out a new digital TM6 upon my return to Thailand with a re-entry permit?

Yesterday I went to our local immigration office to obtain a re-entry permit. I have a couple of trips planned so I asked him if I require to do a new digital TM6 as I return on the 2nd May. Basically my logic says no as I've been issued a permit. The IO was unable to answer the question.
