DTV from Vietnam – Russian citizen, Bangkok, Muay Thai, mother as sponsor, low self-employment income. Any advice?

Hi everyone,

I’m a 25 yearold Russian citizen, currently in Thailand on a tourist visa. I’m planning to apply for the DTV (Soft Power / Muay Thai) from Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi) soon. I’d really appreciate any insights or shared experiences from people in a similar situation.

Main questions:

1. I’m self-employed with a small monthly income

I have proof of self-employment

2. Is a mother sponsoring her daughter generally accepted by the Thai embassy in Vietnam?

3. Income vs. sponsor: My own income is low, but I have a strong sponsor (mother). Is it better to mention my self-employment in the application, or should I just rely on the sponsor and not mention my income to avoid confusion?

4. Muay Thai school: Has anyone used Sor.Dechapant for their DTV application? Did the embassy accept their documents without issues? Or could you recommend a different Muay Thai school in Bangkok?

5. Processing time in Vietnam: For those who applied from Vietnam recently, how long did it take? Any interview requests?

I’d be very grateful for any advice or shared experiences. Thank you in advance!
