Do I need a witness for my marriage visa extension in Thailand?

Hi to all,

I am going for my first marriage visa extension this week and in the Thai list of requirements to apply it says I need to take a witness which is not a relative, has Thai ID and house book. 

Can anyone who has recently done this confirm?
