TLDR : Answer Summary
To get a full back Sak Yant with original blessings in Thailand, the best place is Wat Bang Phra. You should arrive early for ceremonies and offerings before queuing for a monk. It may take several visits, as the process is usually done in stages. Some tattoo artists offer services on the temple grounds, but for traditional blessings, a monk is recommended. It's helpful to speak Thai or have a local guide.

I think I will be able to give good advice as I had several tattoos last year at wat bang phra. There are monks there using bamboo.

There are also professional tattoo artists upstairs that charge a set amount.

There is also a guy at the back ( sorry that's the best I can describe it ) that lives just behind the temple that accepts donations for the temple , entirely up to you how much you want to donate. The blessings and prayers are performed the same as the monks. I only found out afterwards that there are monks still doing sak yant. I left it up to my Thai partner to find out lol

The guy I used sits on his own , he is very good and uses bamboo.

I've had four different tattoos over stages ( different days ).

Maybe I will post the pics on here of my back at some point , can't do it right now.

Most Thais were using the man I used and there was a queue of around 1 + hour. I went lunchtime / early afternoon every time but be aware he stops around 4-5pm.

Yes at the Sak Yant temple. Its Wat Bang Phra.

You would have to do it in stages.

You have to get there early in morning there are offerings and small ceremony to do first then you get in the queue of which ever monk you have decided. It really helps if you can speak Thai.

They also do an afternoon session and its also on first come first served basis. First one i did i arrived 09 30 and got into afternoon session.

There is also other tattoo studios there where you pay but its not the full ceremony and blessings but it is in the temple grounds so some people thinks thats ok

if they still do some with bamboo, it's only a bamboo holder, not a traditional bamboo tattoo as these days they use a modern needle
