A question, possibly a very dumb one: I have a non-immigrant O visa and work permit as a volunteer. Can I go stay in a location that's not my work place, like a hotel once a week? There is a new off day policy at my work. Would that be a problem?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, with a Non-Immigrant O visa and a work permit, you are allowed to stay anywhere in Thailand, including hotels, during your days off from volunteer work. Your visa permits you to reside in the country, and your work permit only restricts your work activities to the specified location.
Your Non Immigrant O visa lets you stay inside Thailand, your Work Permit lets you work as described and on the address mentioned in the work permit. What you like to do on your days off, it is totally up to you. Enjoy yourself.
