I enter and exit very frequently, zero issues. That's what the visa is for (workcation category here). Now, if it was granted on soft power, it MIGHT be different.

If you're rich and willing to spend a lot of money if something even minor happens, no need for insurance. Otherwise, it's a must.

the requirement doesn't seem to vary whether the DTV is for workcation or softpower, rather per embassy.

Totally embassy-specific, and unsurprisingly, person specific, as there are reports of people being approved with only a one month statement while others are required three, on the same embassy. It seems to be a "dynamic" rule. Said so, you shouldn't have problems if it's been seasoned for at least three months.
