You can use TrueMoney. I don't have (and never have had) any Thai bank account, yet I signed up for TrueMoney with my DTV. I can use it to pay QR codes and I don't even need to top it up with cash, as I linked a credit card from my country on it.
not any embassy, as some embassies only take applications from citizens or residents (excluding tourists), while other embassies, notably in South East Asia do take applications from everybody, including tourists.
What's your question a) Whether you can enter Thailand visa free using a Danish passport or b) whether you can apply at the Thai Embassy in Denmark without being a Danish citizen or resident? According to the embassy (see below) you need "proof of residence" if you want to apply for a visa from Denmark.
same here. I first arrived in Thailand around one year ago. I've been living with the DTV, and I never ever tried nor needed to get a bank account, even before the "official crackdown". I simply done need it. By the way, we can use TrueMoney, and it works pretty well for me.
You can enter the country, but your application MIGHT get rejected or void if they find out you were in Thailand. It's not 100% certain, but, it's a risk you need to assess. It has happened to several persons already (while some others did the same and had no issues).
No, working as a contractor is OK. I got my DTV this way. However, my company wrote a letter addressed to the local Thai embassy stating my start date, my position, my job description, my average monthly salary etc. It was signed by one of the big bosses of my company. Embassies live old fashioned stamps on printed (and later scanned) documents. Just originally digital documents (rather than scans of printed documents) aren't much well received.
interesting, South Korea also has the equivalent of that blue book you mention (although now everything is digital, no actual books anymore) but you can get in it only trhu birth, adoption, or marriage. So, no girl/boyfriends or friends, etc.
