Don't eat Thai food. I eat out at western restaurants and drink only imported beer. I'm not making the kind of money I am to live cheap like you do. A few months ago you were telling people to use a visa agent to save putting 800k into a Thai bank account! 😂. Now you're telling us you've got the LTR. Bit of a liar huh? 🤡🤡🤡

No thanks! I'll get my advice from the Thai Tax Office for free!

Yeah, just didn't want to get ripped off 50,000 baht like you were. This new visa has you triggered. A few days ago you were telling people it was going to cost 10,000 baht every six months. Got that wrong too didn't you? Bringing in 80k play money each month hardly struggling, but if it suits your agenda to insult people smarter than you, go for it - it makes you feel better 🤡🤡🤡

Nothing to do with me. It's what I'm told and what I read. By the way, the LTR is a pissant $80k per year "passive" income. 😂😂

Yep I know a few of them myself and take a look at some of the other Thailand groups. They are mightily pissed off. They are retirees so tax free makes zero difference. You seem to enjoy putting people down. You were stupid enough to pay over the top for a crap visa so you try to put others down. Very sad and insecure person. And I'm not "making a go" of anything. I spend 4-5 months of the year travelling around the world. The 80k is my "beer money" in Thailand. I'm just glad that my happiness in life is not based on not having to pay tax in Thailand! 😂😂😂😂

Again, the insults, when you know nothing about me. And obviously nothing about Australia! I'm not really retired as I have property investments in UK and Germany as well as Australia. (But, yeah, not Thailand 😂), so although I have a management team in each country I still like to stay hands-on. It seems you're trying to justify buying the LTR. I know from other forums there's a lot of very pissed-off LTR holders angry that a much cheaper alternative has now been presented. You're not angry, which is good for you, and great that you don't have to pay tax on your Thai investments, but I hope you can now understand that tax exemption for me in Thailand is worthless. I have triple-citizenship so I have to minimise my tax across the three countries of my investments. Australia's generous allowances for property investments means everything I own in Australia is negatively geared so I pay virtually zero tax there. I still fail to see how a global investor can get excited about tax-free status in Thailand.

Yep. I can't help the helpless. And realistically, you're the expert when it comes to making misleading comments !

You've little idea and still insist on throwing out insults. Can't you ever grow up? I didn't get the OX because I haven't been back to Australia recently. I make stacks of money worldwide, but don't import it into Thailand, so I don't pay tax in Thailand, and hence don't require tax-free status in Thailand. Why would anyone invest in Thailand with better opportunities in many other countries? I imagine Canada doesn't offer the same benefits as Australia when it comes to Superannuation investment, and property investment negative gearing and sharemarket dividend imputation, so you don't have those same opportunities. But unlike you, I'm not going to throw insults at you, you've chosen your way, I choose my way. There's dummies out there paying 20,25 thousand baht each year to visa agents, and believe they're getting a good deal! That's 250k over ten years. No thanks. I use my money wisely.

I'm satisfied with my opening statement. People can easily look into their own situations as they feel fit. I can't help everyone.

I didn't get it when it came out, because like most smart Australians I was going for the 5+5 OX visa, which again trumps the LTR, on my next trip home. However, the DTV has altered my game plan. The taxation benefits are of no value to me (and I daresay many other retirees) as the only money I bring in is pension or superannuation money, which is non-taxable in Thailand. I have zero interest in investing in Thailand.
