Everyone quarantines coming into Thailand, no exceptions.

Can an extended stay Airbnb confirmation be used to open a bank account in Thailand?

You need some type of residency for a resident account, most banks accept a condo lease. You can also open a "foreign baht account", a Thai bank account specific for non residence. You don't get a debit card, but you can transfer money into the country and withdraw it.

Only thing I could think of is you might be able to wiggle into a covid unable to travel extension. Not sure though. Definitely cannot transition to another visa from an STV though.
