I'm with Halifax and overseas, you can keep your account but they restrict the products you can use. No CC, fixed term accounts, access to share dealing etc.

Halifax allows limited bank accounts for non UK residents, not open to new expats though. I have been overseas with them for 25 years. No CC, ATM card only.

I have read a post of DTV approval in DC via a brokerage account. A few months ago, it should be in the threads.

The UK does not require the 500K to be seasoned for 3 months.

Anonymous participant Ok,another popular Gym just posted recently the paperwork for approvals has increased a lot. Maybe just best to wait it out, or cancel if you can get the money back and apply elsewhere.
