Also just a bit of extra context, I tried to get a driving license 2 years ago. Got all the paperwork together including the residence cert and on that day all the driving license offices closed because of Covid. I thought getting a car might be a little pointless in the middle of a pandemic so I put it off until now. But I guess I'll just have to wait until I do my next 90 day report or go to the British Embassy again and get it there.

yes that's exactly what I don't understand, the slip doesn't even have a code (like T.M 6) it's just a square bit of paper that they forgot to put in my passport to remind me of when my next 90 day is. But they refused to process the residence cert without it and told me I had to report that I've lost it to the police. I am totally confused.

yes it's the missing slip that's the issue. I can do maths, I know when I have to do my 90 days. The problem is I can't get a resident certificate without the slip and they don't want to give me a new slip.

Maybe I wasn't clear, when I left i had 3 months on a 1 year extension. I was out of the country for 5 months therefore it ran out when I was out of the country. I then returned on a new 90 day married visa. And after 2 months I applied for the 1 year extension, 400k in the bank etc etc. That was fine, but they didn't give me the invite slip that tells you when to return for the 90 days they instead gave me the one from the previous 1 year extension that was as you say invalid as I had already left the country. I know the police can't do anything they're only asking for me to go to the police seemingly for their records not mine.

so after I got rejected at the residence cert counter, I think B1 we went to the 90 days counter and asked them and they said that I'd have to go to the police station and report it missing, they did kindly tell me the date when my 90 days was due, but wouldn't give me a the paper. After that we just gave up and went home.

Keef Newham yes the new evisa system asks for employment. It also asks you how long you want the visa for, however you always get a standard 60 day or 90 day visa etc etc even if you say you're staying for 34 days.
