You can't just pick and choose the embassy you apply at. You have to physically be where you are applying at, and must remain there for the duration of the application process. And Paris is known as a very bad embassy that can take very long time (more than 1 month) to process visa applications.

So get a long term visa and you can stay as long as you want? Obviously. But if you're not willing to apply for extensions and do paperwork, then go elsewhere. That's a part of living anywhere that's not your home country.

I'm not the one being arrogant. The op is the one being arrogant. "I can either live here without having to do anything or I don't want to live here"

Once you get your visa you don't have to keep it anymore. Unless you apply for an extension from immigration, but you shouldn't do that as they don't like issuing those extensions and make it incredibly difficult.

In Chiang Mai you will be pulled out of line, and taken aside to fill out some paperwork, asked to show 20,000 baht, etc. Best to fly into somewhere else.

There's a reason no one uses the non-OX visa. It requires 3 million baht in a Thai bank account. There's only one Thai embassy in all of the world that allows people to use their home bank account to show the 3 million baht and that embassy is in Australia.

And I'm not sure why you are asking about Paris and also about Taiwan. Where are you applying? That's the only place that matters. And the OX visa can only be obtained from where your passport is from or where you can prove you have permanent residency.

"What would be the visa I need to stay the longest time without renewing"

What are you even talking about? You want to just live in Thailand without having to do anything? What if a Thai person wants to live in your country? It's as simple as them just saying they want to and they can go there without having to do anything?

You get a retirement visa, and then you get annual extensions with relatively little paperwork. Or you get a marriage visa and apply for annual extensions with a lot of paperwork. If you don't like paperwork then Thailand isn't for you. Owning a house literally means nothing as far as your ability to stay in Thailand.

no. That's just the way to get an extra year without applying for anything. But once the visa expires your only option is to go home or to apply for the extension from immigration. The requirements are the same as the non-O extension except you'll also need the mandatory insurance, so it's not a good option. At that point you need to have the 800k in your Thai bank and to have the insurance. If you can do that then you are better off getting a non-O so there's no insurance requirement.

you fill out this form and then go to second page. Then choose fast track / VIP entry option. Sorry I don't know the exact name they use. But once you submit the form they'll contact you because they need to see your entire passport to get the price from the airport officers.

No. That's the entire point. These agencies have contacts with immigration, and often send the passport information of everyone that they will be taking to get it approved by the officers at the border. Then when they arrive everything is already arranged to facilitate a quick out and back in. The officers have already received their special contribution to help with this.
