yes travel is possible now to most adjacent countries with little to no requirements.

Proof of vax is the most common requirement, some require insurance still I believe.

If you are legally married she can obtain Non-0 based on being a dependant.

She would piggy back on your visa and extension based on retirement as a trailing spouse.

The financial burden is on the husband only,

Covid specific insurance was only required by ThaiPass.

General health insurance is required for certain Visa types (and usually also covers covid as General sickness).

Insurance requirements vary by Visa AND Embassies.

Not all countries have the same requirements.

Converting a tourist Visa in country to a non-o based on marriage requires no insurance.
