On a "retirement " Visa you cannot work at all.

Your option is to find work online outside of Thailand and be quiet about it.

Tourist Police do not employ foreigners .

The foreigners with tourist police are unpaid volunteers and do not get visas.

They are allowed to do this as they work for the police, it's an exception.

In Phuket for example you can apply with 15 days left on your stamp, no less.

technically as soon as you are unemployed, whatever date that is.

If it's under good terms, the employer can make the date a little later to help.

Once the permit is canceled (usually immediately)as the employer is cutting ties, you have to leave.

If you leave without canceling the extension, you may not get caught for overstay or anything.

However if you ever try to get another non-b you could have issues including fines and denial.

If you return just as a tourist you will likely be okay, but you never know.

If you don't do it correctly you roll the dice.

You need your Work permit canceled, then cancel your extension at immigration and leave immediately.

If you can prove you have a flight out within 7 days, after everything is canceled, you can apply for an extension (will be denied) and may be given 7 days to leave.

okay did you purchase this 1 year in your home country and given 1 year OR

Were you given 90 days then extended for 1 year after, because that would be a non-o visa and 1 year extension of stay.

And you would have to purchase reentry permits single or multi.

Or you could just post a picture of the visa information.

Blackout stuff if you are uncomfortable.

The first year of OA is multi-entry.

If you are in the 2nd year of the OA or on an extension of the OA; you can purchase re entry permits single or multi.

likely not enough time left on extension to convert to a visa... most need at least 15 days left to apply.

If you qualify for the visa/extension there is no reason at all to use an agent.

But some like to spend money on convenience and that's okay too.

But 1900baht vs 20,000(or more) makes no sense if you don't need help.
