You can just leave the departure details blank if you do not have a specific date you will be leaving. This fields are not mandatory.

TDAC only started in May 1st - if you entered before that then you will not have one and it effects nothing regarding leaving. When you come back you need to complete one up to 72 hours before arrival.

Not a new law. You did not apply for your DTV with the Immigration Department. You applied to the MFA (Ministry of Foreign Affairs). Take it up with them :-)

Mist posts here indicate self service. In the first few months 12k DTVs issued and agents had not jumped on the bandwagon by then. What value do agents really offer apart from QA checks of submissions? Do the dodgy ones have contacts in Embassies? I know an agent and she recently asked me about offering DTV services. I said possible but QA checks on submissions, go between with soft power providers and add on services like property/concierge services was all I could think of. She has good contacts at immigration but they do not issue the visa

The overwhelming majority of DTV holders did NOT need nor use an agent.
